Professional profile
Educated in Greece, in Canada and in France: Diploma in Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, M.A.Sc. from the University of Ottawa (Canada), Ph.D. from Carleton University (Canada) and Thèse d'Etat from the University of Paris-XI (France). He has worked in all three countries: IBM in Greece; Bell-Northern Research and Federal Department of Communications in Canada; INRIA, CNRS, University of Orleans and University of Paris XI in France. His early work was in the area of computer communications, while in the last twenty-five years he has been working in the area of databases and related fields. He is the author of over one hundred scientific articles in international conferences and journals, and has supervised fifteen doctoral theses. Positions held currently: Full professor of computer science at the University of Paris XI, Paris Orsay Center, France Head of the database group at the Laboratory of Research in Informatics (LRI) at the University of Paris XI, France Adjunct senior researcher at the FORTH Computer Science Institute of Crete, Greece Adjunct professor at the Ecole Normale Superieur of Paris, France
