The University of Milan (www.unimi.it) is one of largest Italian Universities, with a total of 60,000 enrolled students and is located in the northern region of Italy; one of the most industrialized ones in Italy. Because of its location, the University of Milan has strong connections with a large number of industrial companies. The Dipartimento di Informatica e Comunicazione (Department of Computer Science and Communication) consists of 40 full time faculty staff. The research activities within the framework of DELOS will be carried out by the DB&Sec (Database and Security) group and the CS (Computer Semiotics) group. These groups consist of ten members (2 full professors, 4 assistant professors, 3 PhD students, 1 Post Doc).The research activity focus on five main areas: advanced data and knowledge management system; security and privacy; web-based information systems; human-computer interaction and computer semiotics. The group in particular has substantial expertise in developing and evaluating web based systems. Activities of the research group in the DELOS framework are concerned with the design and implementation of a multimedia presentation authoring system as part of the Task 3.10 – CoCoMA (Content and Context Aware Multimedia Content Retrieval, Delivery and Presentation). |
